Sarkar, the new film of megastar Chiranjeevi's brother Nagababu was launched recently.The film is produced by K Venkateswara Rao and directed by Phaniraj, a debutant.On the occasion of its launch,the producer said,"I am thankful to Nagababu for accepting our project without second thoughts. The film is relevant for the contemporary society. We are planning to release the film in May."

Nagababu plays the title role. The film's poster shows Nagababu resembling Amitabh Bachchan in Sarkar. In fact,director Phaniraj said that Nagababu's role is modelled on the lines of Godfather. Suhasini is the heroine.
