Akkineni Nagarjuna released the latest trilingual album of Andhra pop diva Smita, titled Smita, at an impressive function held at Novotel, Hyderabad, on Thursday night. The album has come up in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. Surprisingly, the album comes after a gap of four years, after her last one titled Kalakkal in Tamil and Club Mix in Telugu.
Hero Sharwanand, VN Aditya, Ramana Gogula, Gunnam Gangaraju, Rahul (Happy Days hero), music directors Sajid Wajid and representatives of Sony BMG were present at the launch. The album Smita features nine tracks which have been composed by immensely talented and successful music duo Sajid Wajid, who also scored music. Two videos of tracks Mahi Ve and Nach Le are being choreographed by leading Bollywood choreographer Bosco-Ceaser.
Nagarjuna said that he was a big fan of Smitha’s performance. Smita said that she would continue to be grateful to people who helped her carve a career graph as a pop star. A video presentation of Smitha’s career from the days of her debut as playback singer to the moment of her receiving the Filmfare Award 2005 to the present day was made, much to the thrilled watch by the gathering. Smita also performed live for a few minutes, while a couple of songs were done on the stage by dancers from Mumbai.
