Suresh Gopi is doing a different type of film titled Laptop.

The film is written and directed by a former journalist Rupesh Paul and has Padma Priya as the heroine, while Shwetha Menon plays his mother reports moviebuzz.

"Laptop is about an unwed mother and her son. The title itself is an indication of the basic themes discussed in the film.

While a laptop is indicative of the new era with all kinds of technological advancements, it is also indicative of a mother’s lap, where children begin their lives"- says director Rupesh Paul.

Gopi was hooked by the story, that he went out of the way to accommodate this film which he feels is "innovative and will bring out another facet in my acting. We should encourage films from new directors with fresh ideas."
