MAA Television has given away the much awaited award for the films released in the year 2007 as The Cinemaa Awards 2008 in a great gala function at GMC Balayogi Indoor Stadium at Gachibowli, Hyderabad on 22nd March 2008.
The function was attended by the tinsel town glittery like the Megastar Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, Viswanath, Brahmanandam,Jr. NTR, Allu Arjun, Bhumika Chawla, Charmee , Trisha, Devisri Prasad etc.
The selection of the awards was done by accepting votes through Mobile SMS from the MAA Television Viewers.
The Awards goes like this:

- Best actor NTR for Yamadonga
- Best actress Trisha for Aadavaari Maatalaku Arthale Verule
- Best director Sekhar Kammula for Happy Days
- Best actor in prominent role Mohan Babu for Yamadonga
- Best actress in prominent role Suhasini for Sri Maalakshmi
- Best debut hero Ram Charan Teja for Chiruta
- Best debut heroine Hansika Motwani for Desa Muduru
- Best debut director Srivas for Lakshyam
- Best music director Micky J Meyer for Happy Days
- Best choreographer Prem Rakshit for Yamadonga
- Best Villain Kelly Dorji for Don
- Best comedian Brahmanandam for Dhee
- Best screenplay Sekhar Kammula for Happy Days
- Best story Sekhar Kammula for Happy Days
- Best male playback singer Karthik for Happy Days
- Best female playback singer Geeta Madhuri for Chirutha
- Best lyricist Vanamali for Happy Days
- Best dialogue writer Ratnam for Yamadonga
- Best cinematographer Senthil Kumar for Yamadonga
- Best Action director Vijayan for Chirutha
- Best Art director Anand Sai for Yamadonga
- Best Editor Varma for Chiruta
Lifetime achievement award was presented to the legendary Director Sri K Viswanath . On accepting this award Viswanath says “ Though it is not Prestegious I consider it as sacred”. He got a standing ovation from the stadium.
A Felicitation was done to Sri Brahmanandam on entering his name by the Guinness Book of World records as the Comedian who has acted in most number of films. He has more than 700 films in his kitty. There were some fun filled moments with Chiranjjevi and Brahmanandam when they got back to their nostalgia.
Though it is not a good sign of gesture, Jr.NTR has returned the award to the presenter saying his respect to the departed legend Sri Sobhan Babu. He should have kept the award with him and can well dedicate it to the departed soul.
There were some extremely well choreographed performances by Sindhu Menon, Udaya Bhanu, Prem Rakshit, Nikhita, Ayesha, Farzana, Devi Sri Prasad, Sraddha Arya and the sensational Mumaith Khan.
There was a songs feist for the films directed by the legendary director Kalatapasvi K.Viswanath by a group of four girls below the age of 10 who are the finalist of the much acclaimed programme on MAA TV- Paadaalani Vundi. They stole the spectators as well as Viswanath himself.
Even though a Nandi Award winner for this year Nagarjuna voluntarily opted out of the race as he is one of the board directors of MAA TV. And this was conveyed by another director of the channel Sri Chiranjeevi.
