The 'Belgaum beauty' Lakshmi Rai is trying to reinvent herself in Kollywood. After a lukewarm innings in Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam cinema, she has moved lock, stock and barrel back to Chennai. She has been playing second heroine in films like Vellithirai and Dhaam Dhoom, as big time has been eluding her.

However, the IPL tournament and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have come to her rescue. She is a permanent fixture at Chepauk stadium when the local team plays at home, wearing CSK's yellow uniform and cheering them, as she desperately tries to catch the television camera.

Last week she celebrated her 19th birthday (?) at Karunai Villa, in Chennai a home for mentally challenged people in Chennai. And in the evening, there was a big bash at one of Chennai's most happening night clubs, where a lot of CSK members came to wish her, including a fast bowler smitten by her.
