No sooner the senior police officer RK Sharma was sentenced to life for the murder of journalist Shivani Bhatnagar than Bollywood director Sushen Bhatnagar shot a dramatized version of the Sharma hearing for his film 'Monica'. He has planned to base his movie on the life and troubled death of Shivani Bhatnagar.

The latter, who shares his surname with the murdered media person, sounds stunned. He says, "It wasn't planned that way. But, while we were shooting the murder trial and verdict in our film with an actor named Dadhi Pandey playing Sharma's role, we got to know that the real-life cop had been sentenced. It was uncanny, almost as if the dead girl was telling us something".

So, he wants to complete 'Monica' and release it at the earliest. Who will play Shivani? He says he has chosen Divya Dutta for the role.

Why did he choose Divya? He adds that Divya understands the mindset and the yearnings of an ambitious small-town girl better than most actors.

Besides, Ashutosh Rana will play late Pramod Mahajan, the BJP leader who had been allegedly accused of involvement in the murder.
